Lotus Life Foundation Limited was set up in 2016 by the Lotus Heritage Trust (LHT) with the sole intention to be a charitable foundation in Singapore. LHT is a private exempt trust.
Mr. Mohan G. Khetan (1947 -2007) was a leading businessman in Nepal who built successful ventures in the field of beverages, foods, banking, insurance, mining, real estate, etc. He ventured with multinationals like Carlsberg, Habib Bank, Lloyds, Hatton National Bank, San Miguel & Thai President Food among many others. His business empire created over 3,000 jobs directly and thousands more indirectly.
Mr. Khetan was also active in his role as the Honorary Consul General of Turkey, He contributed tremendously in promoting friendship, co-operation and better understanding between Nepal and the Republic of Turkey.
More than business, social development and philanthropy were at the center of his heart. He contributed to building numerous schools, colleges, hospitals throughout the country. Kathmandu University, which today is the leading university in Nepal was one of the endeavors of which he was founder trustee. He established the Marwari Service Association in Nepal to provide assistance to fellow Citizens. He was also involved with the Lions club, Rotary movements in Nepal.
He received numerous decorations, awards, and recognition from governments, society and associations for his numerous contributions during his lifetime. On his passing away, the Government of Nepal published a postal stamp in his honor.
In memory and inspiration of Mr. Mohan G. Khetan, Lotus Life Foundation (LLF) will continue his efforts to uplift the lives of fellow Nepalese.
